Nuclear energy seminar
Feb 26th 2007ChristopEnvironment & Events (Bendigo)
In the last year or so there’s been a fair bit of talk about Australia getting into nuclear energy. I don’t really know very much about nuclear energy at all. My housemate’s dad, who is a nuclear scientist, reckons that nuclear energy will be better for the environment than coal energy is, and that the main problem is storing the waste. He reckons we should be able to bury it pretty safely, seeing as our continent is so geologically stable. I’m still fairly doubtful though, partly because I don’t know enough about nuclear science to have any sort of certainty about it.
Anyway, next Monday night Seeds for Bendigo is running a seminar on nuclear energy and Christianity. Dr Paul Dyson (a nuclear scientist/activist) is going to be speaking at St Matthew’s Anglican Church (153 Eaglehawk Rd, Long Gully, Bendigo) from 7:30 till 9:00.
