Who are you voting for?

election1.bmpI realise that in some circles it’s considered inappropriate to ask who someone’s voting for, but I was wondering who our readers are voting for and why? (I’m particularly interested in what first-time voters are thinking.) I have some friends (Dave and Simon) who are choosing not to vote. I think they have good reason, but I’m pretty sure that I’m going to vote. Not 100% sure who I’ll be voting for yet though.

Well the news.com.au vote-o-matic recommended The Greens/Democrats so i think that’s where I’ll vote – in the senate definitely. Labor’ll be second with Libs near the bottom.

Yeah, that quiz said I should vote Democrats or Greens. I found the quiz a bit annoying though, because there weren’t many options to chose from with some questions. Apparently most people came out Liberal. (But that’s most people who get their news from News.com.au, so not necessarily most Australians.)

Yeah the questions are a bit limited, the US has a great site called Connect2Elect that is a lot more in-depth – would be great to see a similar site for Aus.

I can’t believe News were reporting that as any sort of news, maybe it was just meant to be an ad for their vote-o-matic, i doubt the poll is at all representative. :)

I’m a first time voter… i can’t really remember anything except howard (heh) so it’s hard for me to really know if he’s been good or bad, i reckon you know what i mean..

i am probably going to vote labour or greens (haven’t really looked into democrats but will see what they’re about) but i’m not extremely political so i try to make an educated choice but don’t have a deep investment in it :)
